Looking Up

Photobucket

Being a night person, I love taking photos of the moon. Unfortunately though, I haven't had the chance to capture the moon except during its brightest and fullest phase.

April 9th, as I was laying on the porch bench, I noticed that the sky was clear and the moon was giving a very cool silver sliver. I got up, got my cam and took a couple of shots.

I'd like to share with you guys some info about the photo

Camera used : Nikon Coolpix P80
Focal Length : 59.6mm (equivalent of 337mm on 35mm)
Exposure Time : 1/60secs
Aperture : f/4.5
ISO : 64
Exposure Bias : -0.70
White Balance : Auto
Metering : Matrix

How did I process it?

> Adjusted the contrast and levels
> Sharpened the image
> To give it a small hint of color, I used the marble texture built in to my Adobe Photoshop 7, selected Overlay for blending mode and set the opacity to 30%.

I hope you learn something from this post. Experimeting with photos is one of the great things about digital photography.

* On a side note: I downloaded GIMP (a free editing/graphics manipulation software) to supplement my old Adobe Photoshop 7. I'll give it a go next week just to see what it can offer.

Brightest Blessings!
